Welcome to Whisk(e)y Notebook. This board is the official, read-only outline of how we treat each other. Discussion, bottle talk, and feature ideas belong in General Forum or Open Forum.
These community rules sit alongside our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. If something here and the Terms ever disagree, the Terms win.
Legal drinking age
This app is for adults of legal drinking age where you live (21+ in the United States). Do not post in a way that targets or encourages underage drinking. Talk about whiskey as a craft and a hobby, not as a contest to get wrecked.
Be decent
Argue about mashbills, not people. No harassment, slurs, threats, doxxing, or pile-ons. Critique a bottle or a take; do not attack the person who posted it. Sexual content, hate, and graphic violence do not belong here.
Keep it honest
Reviews, ratings, prices, sightings, and barcode links should reflect a real bottle and a real experience. Do not invent pours, fake UPCs, sockpuppet accounts, or paid reviews without a clear disclosure. Catalog contributions help everyone — treat them like shared infrastructure, not a scoreboard to game.
Commercial posts
You may mention a shop, a distillery, or a bottle you love. You may not spam affiliate links, run unsolicited promotions, or pretend to be a brand you do not represent. Official “where to buy” buttons on bottle pages are labeled. Your forum posts should be, too, if you have a material connection.
Privacy and private messages
Do not share someone else’s private messages, email, address, or legal name. Report abuse instead of screenshot-raiding. Friends and DMs are for people who opted in.
Copyright and brands
You keep what you write. Distillery names and bottle photos are for identification and conversation, not for passing off their marks as yours. Do not upload material you do not have the right to share.
How to report
Use the report action on a post or comment. Stewards and staff review reports. Do not brigade a thread or quote the worst of it just to dunk on it.
Where news lives
Product updates, outages, and policy changes will come through the app (notifications, this site, or email) — not as an open announcements thread here. This board stays a stable reference, not a news feed.
If you are not sure a post belongs, put it in General Forum or skip it. When in doubt, be kind and drink responsibly.
