Founded in 2005 by Rick Wasmund, who trained at Scotland's Bowmore distillery; the first North American distillery to build its own traditional malt floor and kiln since Prohibition, smoking its hand-malted barley with apple and cherry wood instead of peat. Added a second location in Williamsburg, Virginia, in 2016.
