Description

Founded in 1858 by American entrepreneur Hiram Walker, who crossed the Detroit River from Michigan to escape US temperance sentiment; now North America's largest distillery by volume and owned by Pernod Ricard, it produces J.P. Wiser's, Lot No. 40, Gooderham & Worts, and Pike Creek, alongside contract whisky for other brands including the separately-owned Canadian Club.
