Henry Edgar Pogue bought a Maysville distillery from the Thomas family in 1876, registering it as Kentucky Distillery No. 3 near what's often cited as the site of Kentucky's first bourbon distillery; Prohibition shut the brand down for roughly 60 years until descendants revived it around 2005 and opened a new family distillery on the same historic grounds in 2012.
