Description

Founded in 1943 as Rampur Distillery & Chemical Company Ltd., originally an extra neutral alcohol supplier to other liquor makers; G.N. Khaitan bought the struggling company in 1972, and under his son Lalit Khaitan it launched its first own-brand whisky, 8PM, in 1999. Now India's fourth-largest liquor company, operating the historic Rampur Distillery in Uttar Pradesh (maker of Rampur Single Malt) alongside a second grain-based distillery in Maharashtra.
