Templeton Rye traces to the early 1920s, when residents of the small Iowa town became Prohibition-era bootleggers producing a rye whiskey nicknamed 'The Good Stuff,' reputedly favored by Al Capone; the brand was legally revived in 2006 as a sourced whiskey, and the company opened a state-of-the-art in-town distillery, visitor center, and museum in 2018 to bring production back to Templeton itself.
