Description
Blended Scotch whisky brand founded in 1827 by George Ballantine as an Edinburgh grocery and spirits shop; not a single distillery itself, it blends around 50 single malts and grain whiskies (led by 'fingerprint' malts Miltonduff and Glenburgie) at its bonded warehouse and bottling plant in Dumbarton. Owned by Chivas Brothers (Pernod Ricard) since 2005.
