Description

The original Tullamore Distillery was founded in 1829 by Michael Molloy; under general manager (and later owner) Daniel E. Williams, it created the whiskey that would bear his initials, Tullamore D.E.W. The distillery closed in 1954, and production moved to Midleton for decades until William Grant & Sons, who bought the brand in 2010, opened a brand-new distillery on the outskirts of Tullamore in September 2014 -- the first greenfield distillery built in Ireland in over a century.
