Founded in 2011 by Irish-born entrepreneur Dr. George G. Moore, who came to the US in the 1970s and dreamed of crafting world-class single malt in his adopted home; after Moore's unexpected death in 2013, his wife Angela and son Gareth carried the vision forward, launching the Courage & Conviction American single malt line in 2020, matured on-site in Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountains through the state's dramatic seasonal temperature swings and named 2023 Distillery of the Year at the London Spirits Competition.
