Founded in 2006 by Daniel Barnes, the fourth distillery to operate in modern Texas, named for a 500-year-old oak in Austin where Stephen F. Austin once signed a border-defining agreement; started with rum before moving into grain-to-glass whiskey, relocating in 2016 from North Austin to a 28-acre ranch, called Ghost Hill, in Dripping Springs.
