Old Forester's most anticipated annual release, celebrating founder George Garvin Brown's September 2 birthday and drawn each year from a single day's production. The 25th edition broke with 25 years of tradition by using a "sweet mash" process with no backset for the first time ever, relying solely on freshly propagated yeast; distilled April 5, 2013, aged 12 years in Warehouse K (floors 1 and 5), and selected by Master Distiller Emeritus Chris Morris and Assistant Master Distiller Caleb Trigo from 210 barrels. As with all Birthday Bourbon vintages, proof and character vary meaningfully year to year.
