Manhattan's first and only legal whiskey distillery since Prohibition, opened in August 2021 by Proximo Spirits under 11th-generation spirits maker Juan Domingo Beckmann; distills New York-grain bourbon and rye in a restored NoHo building on Great Jones Alley, a former Prohibition-era bootlegging corridor.
