Founded in 2015 by Ed Ryan, Jeff McCabe, and Tim O'Bryan (whose Big Woods Brewing roots trace to 2008), Hard Truth grew from a small operation above a pizzeria into Indiana's largest destination distillery on a 325-acre Brown County campus; pioneered the fresh-grain 'sweet mash' process and helped establish Indiana's dedicated rye whiskey legal category.

Hard Truth's oldest batched whiskey to date, released alongside a matching 7-year bourbon and wheated bourbon to mark the distillery's first whiskeys to reach a seven-year age statement.
The debut release in Hard Truth's 2026 Barrel Finish Reserve series, blending two sweet-mash bourbons before finishing in toasted French oak casks and then returning to their original barrels for a final mellowing.
