Description

Created in 1999 by Booker Noe (grandson of Jim Beam and creator of Booker's) in collaboration with Cognac maker Alain Royer of the Fussigny house, this was one of the first, if not the first, major-brand bourbon ever finished in a wine or spirits cask, foreshadowing a technique that's now commonplace. Made from Beam's standard mash bill, aged 18 years in new charred oak, then finished in ex-Cognac casks from Fussigny, and presented in a curved bottle within a bespoke wood frame; sold exclusively at the Jim Beam gift shop for $250, it languished on shelves for years before becoming a sought-after collector's bottle.
